HEARING LOSS FROM DEFECTIVE EAR PLUGS?

We have been getting reports of police officers and veterans who are suffering from hearing loss and tinnitus which may be the result of the use of defective earplugs. The earplugs in question were known as “Combat Arms” earplugs, manufactured by 3M Corporation, and looked like this:

3M defective earplugs

3M sold these ear plugs to the US Armed Forces, from roughly 2003 to 2015, which then provided them to millions of service members in all branches of the military.  3M also marketed these ear plugs to police officers, hunters, shooting ranges, and others who use guns or who are exposed to loud noises.

In July of 2018, 3M settled a lawsuit brought by the federal government, in which the government claimed that the ear plugs did not work as expected because of a design defect.  3M agreed to reimburse the federal government for the cost of buying the ear plugs.  There are also many lawsuits filed against 3M by veterans who are seeking compensation for their hearing loss.

If you or someone you know used this brand of ear plugs and is now suffering from hearing loss or tinnitus, please contact us to discuss a possible claim.
